Throughout the years, I have been a mentor, volunteered with Big Brothers, Big Sisters and even been the leader of a Girl Scout Troop.
I'm also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
I joined the awful & tender club of widowhood in April 2016 when I lost the love of my life. I've established an entrepreneurial prize and a scholarship at Rasheed's alma maters, Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and St. Benedict's Prep.
I have a wealth of experience. From reporting and anchoring to shooting, editing & producing, when it comes to broadcast journalism, I've done it all, and often, all in the same day! I'm currently a morning anchor at WBOC-TV on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Delaware & Virginia. I've been an anchor/reporter in Orlando, Cincinnati & in Salisbury, Md. I've produced investigative and in-depth special reports. I've also worked behind the scenes as a writer and field producer in Miami and in a major network's DC bureau. I'm comfortable in breaking news situations as well as hosting light-hearted segments whose aim is to make viewers smile. My work has also been featured in The Huffington Post.
